The CC3+ Upgrade. Better-looking maps, quicker

CC3+ is faster, easier to use and creates more attractive maps than ever before.

new large icons interface

Speed: CC3+ runs twice as fast as CC3 – and the speed difference is even greater with effects on. A combination of hardware optimisation,  and eldritch programming sorcery means more map-making, less waiting – simple as that.  On most machines, you can use CC3+ with effects on, all the time.

Style: Award-winning cartographer Mike Schley provides you with a complete new attractive map-making style with a host of new symbols and tools. Nothing new to learn, just better looking maps.

Effects: You asked for PhotoShop-style effects, now you have them, with faster, better, streamlined and consistent filters your maps will look better than ever before. You can test your effects on the drawing before applying them. And, again, CC3+ is doing the work.

Ease: A context-sensitive floating cursor lets you know what CC3+ is thinking. Attractive, larger icons suit modern systems. The Print Wizard makes it easy to export your maps at any scale, tiled across paper . CC3+ gives you better and cleverer editing, clearer icons, and improved export.

Integration: CC3 improves and simplifies the map-making process. It puts roads, rivers, symbols and other map-making tools up front and center right where you need them. Whichever map making style you choose, the tools you need will appear, visually, and ready to go.

Clarity: We’ve fixed bugs, plugged holes and cleaned up the interface. CC3+ is Windows 8 able, and it’s cleaner on the inside and outside.

  1. When will this be available 🙂 ?

  2. I’ve been testing this and it is a definite improvement – much faster and smoother. The Schley graphics are gorgeous.

  3. CC3+ is available now. You get the Early Adopter version when you purchase CC3 from the store. And if you have CC3 registered, you can get CC3+ at the upgrade price from your registration page.

  4. Was playing with CC3+ yesterday, and it is quite a bit faster than CC3. I created a new regional map with the new program, and it has never been easier for me. Love those Mike Schley symbols. And the smart cursor is very helpful. Good job Profantasy!!!!!

  5. I am mostly using CC3/DD3 for drawing dungeon maps. Are the speed improvements working for that as well, or do I need to wait for a DD3+ upgrade?

  6. We’ll need to update the DD3 and CD3 installers first – but these will be free updates. Hopefully we’ll have DD3 for CC3+ ready this week.

  7. What font is used in the top image? I’d like to use it for a map I’m making in CC3+

  8. @Dendore: That font is called “Worn Manuscript” and you can download it here:

  9. Can anyone confirm whether DD3 and CD3 work with CC3+ yet? I’ve just bought the bundle but have stayed clear of CC3+ so far as the downloads page gave me the impression that it still wasn’t yet compatible with addons. Love the new map style though, perfect to go with SS4!

  10. If all goes according to plan, the DD3 update for CC3+ will become available this week. But you can go ahead and download CC3+ anyway, it works in parallel to CC3. You can use CC3+ for the overland maps and if you want to map dungeons and cities, switch to CC3.

  11. I’m new to CC3 and I’m pretty confused about the product upgrade to CC3+. For example, I bought one of the annuals with new overland styles but it didn’t install to CC3+. Are the annuals supposed to work with it? If not yet, when? Some very explicit customer-facing information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  12. Currently not. CC3 and CC3+ install and run separately. We are gradually updating all the add-ons to function with CC3+, starting with DD3. In the meantime, use add-ons with CC3.

  14. I am very excited about the new changes. The maps that CC3 makes are awesome! We use them for all our tabletop games. Though it is easy to forget about time and have an awesome map but a sub part quest! Hehe

Do you have an ETA when the add ons will be ready for CC3+?
