Did you love last month’s Far Eastern symbols by Mike Schley, but feared there was not enough variety available? Don’t worry, we have you covered with more of the same style. Sprawling castles, palaces, temples and shrines, as well as ruined town and smaller places, they are all included in the May selection of free symbols.
To download the free content go to your registration page and on the Downloads tab, click the download button for Campaign Cartographer 3 Plus. Mike’s new symbols are the last link in the list. All the content of the current year (January to May 2024 so far) is included in the one download.
You can always check the available monthly content on our dedicated page.

Christina continues her series on the 2016 Annuals…
Next up, Empire of the Sun. I love, love, love this Annual. It looks like wall art, doesn’t it? For this Annual I changed nothing except the range of the text’s outer glow a teeny tiny bit. No reason to change a thing. I love the brushed watercolor look of this map.
For this map, I must admit I used my own homebrew fantasy world for this landscape. I’ve changed the names from my world, just in case any of my players make their way here, or come across this map for any reason other than within their gameplay.

About the author: Lorelei was my very first D&D character I created more years back than i’d like to remember. When I decided to venture into creating maps for my and others rpgs, I thought I owed it to her to name myself Lorelei Cartography, since it was her that led me to the wonderful world of tabletop gaming in the first place. Since then I have been honored to have worked with companies such as WizKids, Pelgrane Press, and ProFantasy.

The November issue of the Cartographer’s Annual builds on the foundation Sue Daniel set with the “Japanese Temples” style in September. It adds more than 30 new buildings, and a full set of house, street and city tools for a comprehensive “Asian Towns” style for City Designer 3. The 6-page mapping guide takes you through all the steps to utilize these resources.
Check out the details of the style here on the 2018 Annual’s page and click the image on right to see the included example map of the “Fishing Town of Sukoyara”.
You can subscribe to the Annual 2018 here. If you are already subscribed, the November issue is now available for download on your registration page.

We have the Feburary Annual issue ready for you to download and enjoy: the overland style Empire of the Sun. It’s a wonderful design by TJ Vandel that lets you create overland maps in a quasi-historical style reminiscent of Japanese and Chinese cartography. With more than 350 symbols, the style allows you to easily put together varied landscapes and coastlines.
The February issue is now available for CC3+ from the registration page for all subscribers. If you haven’t subscribed to the Annual 2016 yet, you can do so here.
