Maps of the Month – September 2024

Hello fellow map-makers. It’s time to take another look at the gorgous maps our community createst, this time the ones posted in September. Please note that I’ve left out all the wonderful contributions to the 1000th Community Atlas map competition, because they are all collected in a seperate gallery on the forum. As always, many thanks for sharing your work, and if you have not yet, please consider doing so on the forum or our Facebook group.

I can’t but start with the wonderful giant turtle Aspidochelone rendered by RoyalScribe in the Marine Dungeons style. Isn’t it just fantastic?

Shaun Hately is writing a short story and drawing maps to support it, like this island in the Woodcut Maps style.

Ricko Hasche used the latest free monthly symbols to depict this eagle-eye view of a city perched on a mountain top.

Quenten‘s Circle of Gods takes me back to my own old role-playing campaigns, and is a great example of how to employ CC3+ for Abstract Graphics instead of maps.

The next two entries are example of the Watabou City Revisited style. Calibre’s Shimar and landorl68’s Saerlyn, both take a randomly created town and convert them into beautiful CC3+ maps.

The Final Empire 1021 by Julian Dracos uses the Darklands overland style with some subtle modifications.

Grimur Fjeldsted has put some more work into his glorious Earlsdale map (using the Mike Schley Overland style) and posted the result both on Facebook and his own website.

You can see Erik Sharma’s map of Elaria evolving on Facebook. He uses the Jon Roberts Overland style to nice effect.

Daniel Pereda de Pablo shows us an impressive knightly couple, drawn with Character Artist 3 and enhanced the scene with Photoshop.

Finally, here is another great battle map by Christina Trani showing a spider-infested gorge using her trademark mix of various battle map assets.
